Meet Kendell Brown

Upon completion of her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, Kendell Brown earned her CPA and worked in public accounting. During her years in public accounting, Kendell audited numerous organizations in a variety of regulated industries, such as banks, insurance companies and utilities. Building upon her financial acumen, she went to work for a client underwriting multi-million dollar commercial real estate loans. Her loans covered a variety of properties, including multi-family housing, self-storage facilities, office space and hotels. Deciding that she had a strong grasp of business fundamentals via my early career experiences, Kendell returned to school.

She completed her MBA in 2001 from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with a major in marketing. After business school, she worked in a variety of consumer packaged goods companies (e.g., Colgate, Kraft, Heinz) driving strategic growth for several brands. She launched, developed and grew brands at various stages of the product life cycle and enjoyed directly impacting an organization's bottom line via her efforts.

Rejoining the work force after starting a family, Kendell chose to pursue a career that allowed her to tangibly see the results of her efforts. She started working at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business as a professional development and executive career coach.

As a career coach, Kendell has led numerous lectures and webinars to empower students and working professionals with the tools and skills needed for an effective career search and on-the-job success. She has extensive experience working with people to ascertain and achieve their career goals via strategic planning, positioning and branding assessments, identifying transferrable skills and providing counsel for working through challenging work situations.
