  • Workshop: Resumes, Interviews, and Job Search Tactics
  • Networking and Q&A

"The first thing I noticed is that I was surrounded by other professionals ...  like myself, who were in the same position as me and shared the same bulk of concerns and hurdles. The sense of camaraderie alone, was priceless. ...  When I later reviewed my notebook from the iRelaunch course, it was brimming with fierce underlines, bullet points, follow-up notes, websites, contacts, and most importantly, a step-by-step plan, to accomplish my return-to-work goals. I strongly recommend this program for anyone looking to return to work after a career break." – Attendee at FastTrack Event at Georgetown University

Meet Carol Fishman Cohen, iRelaunch CEO and Co-Founder

Carol Fishman Cohen is CEO and Co-Founder of iRelaunch. iRelaunch produces career reentry products and services for employers, professional associations and academic institutions interested in connecting with the pool of talent returning from career break and for experienced professionals looking to return to work after time away. iRelaunch’s flagship event, the annual iRelaunch Return-to-Work Conference in New York City, is the leading external source of candidates for the major Wall Street reentry internship programs and is the largest and longest-running dedicated career reentry event in the United States.

Carol speaks and consults globally about career reentry strategy and is frequently quoted on the topic in the national press. She has been tracking career reentry programs of all types since 2008 and writes a series of articles for Harvard Business Review on career reentry. Her TEDx talk “The 40-Year-Old Intern” makes the case for why reentry internships are the most effective way to engage with the high caliber pool of talent returning from career break, and what this means for other non-traditional career transitioner populations. Carol originated and co-leads the Society of Women Engineers/iRelaunch STEM Reentry Task Force, an initiative to increase the pipeline of female engineers via reentry internship programs at STEM sector companies. Seven engineering-based companies are piloting reentry internship programs in 2016: IBM, Intel, General Motors, Booz Allen Hamilton, Cummins, Caterpillar, Johnson Controls). iRelaunch is working to bring this model to other sectors.

Internationally, Carol has been featured in speaking tours in Japan and Korea sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, is the International Advisor for Universidad del Pacifico's career reentry Executive MBA program in Lima, Peru, addressed a delegation of top officials from Japan and Korea about global career reentry initiatives at the U.S. State Department, and has run the iRelaunch Return-to-Work Conference in London at London Business School. Back on the Career Track has been translated into Dutch and Korean.

At the invitation of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Carol addressed leading STEM professionals from government and the private sector about challenges and solutions of career reentry in technical fields. Carol announced the Society of Women Engineers/iRelaunch STEM Reentry Task Force at the 2015 annual convocation of the National Academy of Engineering.

Carol is the co-author of career reentry strategy book Back on the Career Track and a returning professional herself. A graduate of Harvard Business School and mother of four, Carol’s return to work at Bain Capital after 11 years out of the full-time workforce is documented in a Harvard Business School case study. Through iRelaunch's over 220 return-to-work presentations before more than 18,000 people to date, Carol has connected with thousands of professionals who have successfully returned to work after a hiatus, and has engaged with hundreds of hiring managers to understand their perspectives on hiring people returning from career break. Carol and her husband live in Boston, MA.

"Carol’s presentation had the rare quality of being filled with useful content as well as being engaging and uplifting. She’s a wonderful communicator—made me feel as if she was a trusted friend and mentor."

"I went to an iRelaunch event on a Tuesday, spent Wednesday re-vamping my resume, began sending it out on Thursday, and the following Tuesday I received a call from a potential employer. That session alone gave me the clarity and focus I needed in my job search and ultimately led me to my current job."
