"I spent 12 years as a consumer marketing executive with Clorox, Quaker Oats, Coca Cola Foods, and Nabisco. I continued working two years after our son was born, and then left the paid workforce. While raising our son, I was a school and community volunteer, I completed a part time Master degree program in Psychology at Columbia University Teacher's College, and took local and online courses in counseling, personal coaching, and computer graphics. When my son went through the college admissions process, I knew that independent admissions consulting with families was a field that would integrate my skill sets in marketing and psychology, and would give me the rewarding satisfaction of helping young people.
When my son entered college, I launched my new business, Position U 4 College LLC, with a website, two blogs, and a few pro bono "beta" clients that have transformed into a small but growing paying client base. I am enrolled in UCLA's online extension College Counseling Certificate Program. My relaunch has been tremendously gratifying thus far. I am happy to share my experience with other empty-nesting parents who want to leverage their experience and talents in a new entrepreneurial career!"
