12 year career break
"After a 12 year career break, I went back to school for a graduate degree in Landscape Architecture. Just shy of completing the program, my husband took a job in Utah and I didn't finish. I was, however, able to take my drafting and architectural skills and apply them to the Salt Lake City Olympic Committee's Venue Development effort. I helped SLOC coordinate the building of the permanent and temporary Olympic venues. I also served as assistant site manager for Park City Mountain Resort where the snowboarding half pipe and other events took place during the Games. I fell in love with the construction process and landed a job working as a Project Engineer. Right now my company is building a large unique mall in downtown Salt Lake City. Yes, I wear a hard hat! I love the people I work with and I love watching something being built. It is a very satisfying career."
